This is a very nice 1980 TR7 5 speed roadster with a freshly rebuilt engine and many performance upgrades. The engine was professionally rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago, bored .020 over, crank cut .010/.010, new oil and water pumps, 3 angle valve job, block and head faced, etc, etc. The clutch was replaced at the same time and the cluth hydraulics were rebuilt. It has a dual downdraught weber dgv conversion, header, pacesetter exhaust, and crane xr700 electronic ignition. The tires are new and so is the top. The paint is a fair 20 foot respray with some chips and garage rash - OK for a daily driver but would need to be repainted to be show quality. The body is straight and mostly rust free with a few bubbles starting to show just behind the rear wheel arches. The blue interior is in very good condition with the exception of the seats. The passenger's seat bottom has a split seam and the driver's seatback has one bolster worn through. The carpet looks new and all of the interior panels and dash are quite nice and original. I just replaced the window seals and the bushings between the gearbox and the shifter housing. All of the electricals work - lights, horn, heater fan, even the factory fog lights!! This car runs and drives beautifully and if I don't sell it I won't mind driving it all summer!
The car is located in Bristol, Rhode Island and is registered and insured as an antique. Rhode Island doesn't require a title for cars over 10 years old and does not issue them for these cars. Therefore, it is sold with a bill of sale and a copy of my registration and insurance which should be enough to get a title issued in states that require them (like Mass.). The NADA Guide average retail for this car is $7,750. It has had more spent on it in parts than my asking price. The TR7 is totally undervalued in this country. It is a thoughly modern car with a ride that is better than any British sports car I've driven this side of a Jaguar. My wife likes it better than my MGA, MGB or Spitfire. Now is your chance to grab one cheap before everyone figures this out and the values skyrocket!
